Sport fishing in Hurghada is one of the most accessible adventure experiences in Egypt. You don't need experience, special skills, or your own equipment โ just the desire to be on the water with a line in the sea.
Do I Need Experience?
Absolutely not. Over 60% of our guests have never been sport fishing before. Our crew โ with a combined experience of 25+ years on the Red Sea โ will teach you everything you need to know on the boat. Casting, jigging, fighting a fish, using the fighting chair โ all explained from scratch.
What Equipment Do I Need?
Nothing. We provide everything:
What Should I Bring?
- Sunscreen: High SPF โ the Red Sea sun is intense year-round
- Sunglasses: Polarized preferred for spotting fish
- Light layers: Mornings can be cool offshore
- Sea-sickness tablets: If you're prone, take them the night before
- Camera: You'll want photos of your catch
- Comfortable shoes: Non-slip soles preferred

Is It Safe for Kids?
Yes โ Hot Tuna is a family-friendly vessel. Our 40ft walkaround has wide deck space, high gunwales, and a stable twin-engine setup that minimizes rocking. Captain Atef has taken children as young as 5 years old, and many families report it as the highlight of their Hurghada holiday.
What About Seasickness?
The Red Sea is generally calmer than the Atlantic or Mediterranean. Offshore conditions are usually mild, especially in winter. That said, if you know you're prone to motion sickness:
- Take Dramamine or Stugeron the night before
- Eat a light breakfast โ nothing heavy or greasy
- Stay on deck and focus on the horizon
- Let us know โ we'll position you in the most stable part of the boat
What Happens to the Fish?
Every fish you catch is yours to keep or release. Our crew will clean and fillet your catch onboard at no extra charge. You can take the fillets back to your hotel โ many Hurghada restaurants will cook your own fish for a small preparation fee.
We practice selective catch and release for certain species to preserve the Red Sea's marine ecosystem for future generations.
Ready for Your First Fishing Charter?
No experience needed. Our crew will guide you through everything.
